Once again Sega beat its competitors to the market with the Sega Dreamcast. Dreamcast brought a lot of features to the video game market that became industry standards. All models were shipped with built in modems which allowed internet browsing as well as online gaming. Along with online console gaming came live in-game voice chat. Dreamcast also introduced downloadable content for games.

Dreamcast not only brought new advancements in game graphics but also in graphic style. Cel-shading was made popular by Jet Set Radio. Shenmue brought massive worlds for gaes and Seaman was the first voice-interactive virtual pet.
